Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick is running two free seminars relating to trade marks.

You will have the option of either attending a Tuesday evening seminar, or a Thursday lunchtime seminar, whichever is more convenient.

About this seminar

In this seminar, we will talk about how to get the most out of a registered trade mark, as well as provide information and guidance on the following:

 

  • The rights of a registered trade mark owner
  • Enforcement of your trade mark rights, including working with Customs
  • Opposing similar marks
  • Steps to protect your trade mark from removal for non-use
  • Correct use of the ® and ™ symbols
  • Changes to your trade mark and when to seek a new registration
  • Steps to extend your protection overseas.

The duration of the seminar will be approximately 1 hour.

About the presenters:

Russell Waters is a patent and trade marks attorney and a Partner of Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick. Russell advises clients on proposed marks, obtaining registration, searching, oppositions and enforcement. Russell won Australian trade mark categories for the ILO Client Choice Award 2013 and ACQ Finance Magazine Law Awards 2012, and ranks amongst Australia’s top trade mark attorneys in the annual World Trademark Review 1000.

Anita Brown is a lawyer and trade marks attorney with a Master of Intellectual Property Law. Anita has experience in trade mark searching, prosecution, registration and enforcement. Anita also advises on trade mark assignments and licensing. Before joining POF, Anita worked as a journalist and then as a lawyer at a firm specialising in advertising and marketing law.
