POF hosts the Joan Radford Memorial Lecture given by the Honourable Annabelle Bennett AO

The Women in Chemistry Group of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) – Victorian Branch is pleased to welcome all members of the scientific and legal communities to attend this special annual lecture. This event is not exclusively aimed at women or chemists.

The Hon. Annabelle Bennett is a former Judge of the Federal Court of Australia and Supreme Court
of the ACT and previously practised as a Senior Counsel specialising in intellectual property. She is a Member of Chief Executive Women; Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport; a Member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and was previously President of the Copyright Tribunal of Australia and is a past Presidential Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. In 2005 she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia.

The Hon. Annabelle Bennett completed her BSc (Hons) and PhD in Biochemistry (the latter in the Faculty of Vet Science) at the University of Sydney and later obtained her law degree at the University of New South Wales. Her interest in biological sciences has led to membership of the Genetic Manipulation Advisory Committee, the Biotechnology Task Force, the Pharmacy Board of New South Wales and the Eastern Sydney Area Health Service. In 2011 she was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of the University by the ANU.
