“Intellectual Property for the Small Business” Learning Lunch

The session will provide attendees with an introduction to intellectual property rights (including trade marks and copyright), what they protect and explain why they are relevant to SMEs and start-up businesses.

The main topics include:

  •          What is Intellectual Property (IP) and what does it protect?
  •          How to identify and protect your business’ IP
  •          How to avoid infringing the rights of others
  •          Lessons learnt – practical tips for the small business.

THE PRESENTER: David Longmuir is a Senior Associate of Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Lawyers. He is both a lawyer and a registered Patent and Trade Marks Attorney and has over ten years’ experience in the intellectual property industry. David works across all areas of intellectual property including patents, designs, copyright, trademarks and trade practices. He is passionate about helping businesses to properly identify, protect and enforce their intellectual property rights in Australia.
