We are pleased to announce that two of our clients have been shortlisted as finalists in the Australian Technologies Competition 2015. The Australian Technologies Competition recognises Australia’s leading companies in the technology sector. The awards are presented to those who are deemed to have the greatest potential to deliver gains in efficiency and increased competitiveness for global industry.

The Australian Technologies Competition has shortlisted finalists across six industry categories; Built Environment Technologies, Energy Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, Food & Agritech, Mining Technologies and Global Development. In shortlisting the finalists, the expert panel of judges carefully examined the finalists’ technology, business plans and management team.

We congratulate our two clients who have been listed among the finalists.

Melvelle Equipment – finalist in the ‘Advanced Manufacturing’ and ‘Global Development’ award categories

Melvelle Equipment was nominated for their portable railway track maintenance system, in particular their E-Clip remover which is a machine that removes fasteners to enable railway tracks to be separated from railway sleepers. This technology provides an improvement upon existing manual techniques.

Ocius Technology was nominated for their Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) technology. These vessels harvest energy at sea including wind, solar and wave energy to power the vessels and incorporate autonomous navigation, information gathering and communications systems.  A variety of applications for this technology have been identified including oceanography, oil and gas exploration.

These top innovators will now showcase their innovations in front of a live audience in the final round of the annual competition.
