Professor Peter Langridge is South Australia’s 2011 Scientist of the Year!

Professor Langridge, CEO of POF Client the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics (ACPFG), was presented the award at the gala dinner on November 3rd by the Science and Information Economy Minister, the Hon. Tom Kenyon. Tom Kenyon said the awards celebrated the successes of the state's scientists.

 

"Professor Langridge is the chief executive officer for the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics, which plays a key role in driving innovative applications of plant genomics technology critical to ensuring global food security." Mr Kenyon said.

 

"Australia is regarded as the world leader in this technology because of his work and he's an outstanding winner of South Australia's highest award for science," he said.

 

This award recognises Peter’s significant contribution to improving agricultural products in South Australia over a 30-year career. Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick would like to congratulate Professor Langridge on this achievement.
