We are pleased to announce that one of our Partners, Ross McFarlane, has been nominated as a finalist in the Intellectual Property category in the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards 2016. This highly sought after accolade recognises partners who demonstrate quality leadership, technical expertise and strong business development skills. The winners will be announced at the Partner of the Year Awards on 28 April 2016, at which some of the industry’s best practitioners will be brought together for an exciting and entertaining evening.

Throughout 2015, Ross was central in the firm securing new and significant patent work from both local and overseas clients.  Ross has also worked with several allied service providers in the commercialisation space to develop a broad range of commercialisation services for clients of the firm.

As a result of Ross’ leadership and dedication to the strategic direction of the firm, he has been selected as our next Managing Partner, commencing 1 July 2016. Ross plans to focus on the firm’s capacity and capability to partner with clients for their business success. Ross has already commenced working with the Board and the Partnership to develop strategies and plans for FY2016 and beyond, and will be instrumental in implementing those strategies with the firm’s new Management Team.

Ross will be attending the awards ceremony with his wife Florence, and POF Partner from the Adelaide office, Greg Bartlett, and Senior Associate from the Sydney office, Helen Kavadias. Good luck Ross!
