POF officially opens new Melbourne office at 333 Collins with EOFY celebrations

On Thursday 23 July, POF Melbourne celebrated the end of the financial year with a client function at our new offices at 333 Collins Street, Melbourne. For some of our clients this was the first time they had been to our new offices, and it was a great opportunity for us to welcome them to our new space. It was also the first time for many attendees to visit 333 Collins Street, which is famous for its impressive lobby and atrium – a true Melbourne icon known as ‘The Dome’.

We were fortunate to be joined by special guest Frank McGuire, the Parliamentary Secretary for Medical Research. Frank officially opened our new office, and gave an impressive speech on the Victorian Government’s business initiatives and focus for the coming year. In particular, Frank talked about innovation in Australia, medical research and IP investment. Importantly, Frank said, “Australia shouldn’t hand over its ideas without capturing the value for the Australian people”, which was particularly relevant to our attorneys and clients, many of whom are Australian innovators. Frank was clearly passionate about this subject and his enthusiasm for fostering future innovation was inspiring.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our end of financial year celebration, and we look forward to celebrating with our Melbourne clients again at the end of the year.
