POF Associate elected a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology

On 18 May 2012, Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Associate, Dr. Mark Wickham, was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology.

 

Mark received the nomination for election from his peers from the Institute of Food Science and Technology. Fellowship is the senior category of membership in the Institute and is awarded for a sustained high level of achievement and professionalism. The Institute of Food Science and Technology is the leading independent qualifying body for food professionals in Europe and the only professional body in the UK concerned with all aspects of food science and technology.

 

Mark is currently an Associate in the Life Science group at POF. He undertook his PhD at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, and subsequently spent four years in Vancouver, Canada, examining the mechanisms of disease caused by the food-borne pathogens Salmonalla, and enteropathogenic and enterohaemorrhagic E. coli.
