We can research, investigate, register and manage your domain name(s), as well as assist you in dealing with cybersquatters.

Should you wish to take action to try and secure a domain name from someone else, you will have access to our in-house law firm, who can help you to resolve your domain name dispute. This may be, for example, where a cybersquatter has registered a domain name that corresponds to your trade mark.

Domain name registration is a relatively straightforward process, but if not carefully managed, they can inadvertently be allowed to lapse, having a significant impact on your business. Domain names may inadvertently lapse if, for example, the employee responsible for your domain names leave your company, if you change your IT/hosting company, or your IT/hosting company goes out of business.

We can assist in relation to the following aspects of domain names:

  • the registration/renewal of domain names (including advising on eligibility)
  • managing your domain name portfolio (usually in conjunction with managing other IP rights)
  • obtaining domain names from third parties (including advising on your options and, where appropriate, preparing and filing a Complaint under the applicable domain name dispute resolution policy)
  • protecting your domain names from attack by third parties.
