Inventive Step in Europe including the problem-solution approach

Please note that this event has already occurred. Go back to events to see upcoming events.

While the Australian Government has accepted the recent Productivity Commission’s recommendation to raise the threshold for inventive step to more closely mirror that of the European Patent Office, the Government has also decided to undertake further analysis and consultation with stakeholders before amending the inventive step requirements.

This seminar discusses the European Patent Office’s approach to the assessment of inventive step, with a particular focus on the mechanics of the problem-solution approach, and referencing the applicable EPO Boards of Appeal case law.

The duration of the seminar will be approximately 1 hour.
