Congratulations to our new Senior Associates and Associates

We are pleased to announce the appointment of three new Senior Associates and two new Associates, effective from 1 July 2016.

Our new Senior Associates are:

Magda Bramante BSc LLB LLM

Magda has a wide range of experience in all aspects of IP including patent, design, trade mark, copyright and trade practices issues. Magda is also experienced in Federal Court matters and opposition proceedings before the Patent and Trade Mark Office.

Anita Brown BA LLB MIPLaw

Anita has a Master of Intellectual Property Law and experience in trade mark searching, prosecution, registration and enforcement. She also advises on trade mark assignments and licensing.

Marine Guillou LLM (Edinburgh University) – Overseas Qualified French Lawyer

Marine specialises in anti-counterfeiting programs, customs proceedings, training and trade mark infringement litigation. Marine gained valuable experience as an in-house lawyer for the French anti-counterfeiting group, Union Des Fabricants (Unifab) and as an anti-counterfeiting Area Manager with Société Bic. In 2015, Marine was ranked as one of Australia’s top experts in anti-counterfeiting in the World Trademark Review 1000.

Our two new Associates are:

Duncan Joiner BAeroEng (Hons) LLB (Hons), LLM (IP)

Duncan has experience in the preparation and prosecution of overseas and local patent applications. Duncan assists with the provision of advice to a wide range of clients from individual inventors to large commercial entities. His areas of specialisation include automotive, aerospace, mechanical, material and civil engineering.

Dr Jon Wright PhD (UMIST), MIP (UTS)

Jon has a broad range of expertise across a number of major technical fields including chemistry, medical devices, mechanical engineering, software and business methods. Jon also specialises in inkjet printing technology, specifically, micro/nano-fabrication techniques, biosensor technologies and polymer chemistry.

BSc LLB FIPTA

Greg was the Chairman of the Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Board and has been with the firm since 1985. Greg initially worked in the industry as a corporate patent and trade marks adviser, and later worked with a general legal practice in Melbourne. He was a founding partner of Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Lawyers in 1996, and is the firm’s senior litigator.
