Marianne is a registered Patent Attorney in the Melbourne Chemistry and Life Sciences group, with extensive experience in Australian and New Zealand patent prosecution and patent portfolio management. She files and prosecutes patent applications with the Australian and New Zealand Patent Offices and oversees foreign patent prosecution through a network of trusted international law firms.

Marianne’s expertise spans oppositions, drafting patent specifications, providing freedom to operate advice, conducting searches in the pharmaceutical sector, and monitoring third-party patent applications globally. Her areas of specialization include consumer healthcare, food and beverage formulations, pharmaceuticals and agrochemistry, synthetic organic and formulation chemistry, composite materials, coatings and polymer chemistry, as well as electrochemical materials and liquids.

With a solid foundation built from hands-on laboratory experience, Marianne has developed a deep understanding of both synthetic and characterization techniques in organic and inorganic chemistry. This technical background enables her to leverage her knowledge effectively when assisting clients with the drafting and prosecution of patents, ensuring their innovations are well protected. Marianne has also published work in several high-impact journals and has presented research and IP-related matters at various national and international conferences.
