He advises clients on IP capture, patent prosecution, and the development and management of robust patent portfolios.

Before joining Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick, Leigh worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard University in the Departments of Stem Cells & Regenerative Biology and Molecular and Cellular Biology. During this time, he collaborated with leading researchers across institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Center, the University of Adelaide, the Hanson Institute, and the University of South Australia.

Leigh has deep technical experience across a broad range of biomedical technologies, with particular expertise in protein and peptide therapeutics, especially immunotherapeutics. He also manages and prosecutes patents relating to diagnostics and therapeutic treatment methods. With a strong research background in immunology, immune tolerance, reproductive technologies, and developmental biology, Leigh brings an advanced understanding of the science underpinning his clients’ innovations. He combines this technical insight with extensive experience in Australian and international patent practice to deliver strategic, effective protection and help clients maximise the value of their IP.
