Matthew Ford is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney and Head of the Sydney office at Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick.
For more than 17 years, Matthew has advised technology companies, research organisations, universities and innovators on the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property. His practice focuses on physics, photonics, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, image processing, electronics, software, telecommunications and medical devices.
In addition to patent drafting and prosecution, Matthew advises clients on intellectual property strategy, portfolio management, freedom-to-operate assessments, due diligence and commercialisation opportunities. His background in physics and photonics enables him to quickly understand complex technologies and translate them into practical, commercially valuable intellectual property outcomes.
