Congratulations to POF clients Ocius Technology and Melvelle Equipment for their wins at the Australian Technologies Competition 2015

We are delighted to announce that two of our clients, Ocius Technology and Melvelle Equipment, were winners at last night’s Australian Technologies Competition 2015.

The Australian Technologies Competition recognises Australia’s leading companies in the technology sector. The awards are presented to those who are deemed to have the greatest potential to deliver gains in efficiency and increased competitiveness for global industry.

The gala Showcase & Awards Event was held at the MLC Centre, Sydney on Tuesday 20 October. The afternoon session consisted of a Technologies Showcase, in which the finalists showcased their innovations in front of a live audience. The awards were then announced later in the evening.

Ocius Technology – winner in the ‘Advanced Manufacturing’ award category

Ocius Technology was nominated for their Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) technology. These vessels harvest energy at sea including wind, solar and wave energy to power the vessels and incorporate autonomous navigation, information gathering and communications systems.  A variety of applications for this technology have been identified including oceanography, oil and gas exploration.

Melvelle Equipment – winner in the ‘Global Development’ award category

Melvelle Equipment was nominated for their portable railway track maintenance system, in particular their E-Clip remover which is a machine that removes fasteners to enable railway tracks to be separated from railway sleepers. This technology provides an improvement upon existing manual techniques.
