About me
Joe commenced his professional career as a Trainee Patent Attorney in 2007 with one of Australia’s largest law firms.
Joe joined Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick in 2009, and is a member of the firm’s EPIT (Electronics, Physics and Information Technology) Group. He works with clients in wide-ranging industries such as e-commerce, telecommunications, banking, mining, advertising, gaming technology, animal health, medical devices and semiconductor fabrication.
Joe was awarded a PhD in fibre-optic physics from the University of Sydney and went on to complete his studies in intellectual property at the UTS Law School. He became qualified as a patent attorney by the end of 2009 and was registered shortly thereafter.
Joe’s role encompasses meeting with the firm’s clients, advising them on patent matters including patent filing strategies, drafting patent specifications, patent prosecution and patent opposition. He also assists clients with their registered design protection.
