Su-Yin Cheah

Secretary/Applications Support Assistant

Su-Yin joined the Administration team in 2007, bringing to POF administration and reception skills along with a strong customer service ethic. Su-Yin’s first year at POF saw her develop skills in the Administration engine room, in particular the patent examination process. Su-Yin was interested in developing her secretarial skills and with the support of her Manager, the next year saw her start some regular part-time on-the-job training within the patent teams. 

By 2010, Su-Yin was appointed full time to a Secretarial role that involved working for a Partner and a Technical Assistant within the Engineering team and now assists two partners in their hectic day to day tasks. Most recently, Su-Yin has taken on a dual role involving Applications Support work, which means using her advanced skills to assist others on the electronic document system, assisting with induction and training sessions as well as getting up to high-speed on every-day applications.

“My career at POF has allowed me to build on my administration skills and at the same time gain a really good insight into the world of intellectual property. Working in the administration team was a great introduction to IP processes and joining the Engineering team solidified this knowledge for me. Most recently, as well as working for 2 Partners my role has expanded enabling me to develop my interest in information systems which I studied upon finishing secondary school. The chance to help others working with POF Docs (our electronic document system) means every day I am facing a whole range of challenges.. I find that rewarding!”
