1888 Founded as Swanson and Rolingson in Melbourne.
1892 Acquired by Edwin Phillips and renamed Phillips, Ormonde & Co.
Early 1900’s Cecil Le Plastrier and Victor Kellson join the firm/ On becoming
partners, firm name changes to Phillips Ormonde LePlastrier
and Kellson.
1938 Under the guidance of LePlastrier, the partnership expanded to
include Geoffrey Sly and Bertram Fitzpatrick. During this period,
Sly and Fitzpatrick led the firm to develop its strong reputation for
reliable and quality service, especially with international 
corporate clients and attorney associates overseas.
1967 Under Fitzpatrick, the name of Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick was
adopted.
From 1952 to 1972 David Fitzpatrick played a major role in managing the
firm and leading its development and expansion.
1972  David B Fitzpatrick became Senior Partner, continuing the firm's
growth and modernisation. 1972 David B Fitzpatrick became Senior
Partner, continuing the firm’s growth and modernisation. He retired
as a partner on 30 June 2009.
