The partners of Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick are delighted to announce that Mr David Clark will be joining the firm as a Partner on 1 July 2009.
David will be located in our Sydney office.
David joins POF from Blake Dawson Patent Attorneys, where he has been a Partner for seven years.
Before that, he worked with another firm in Perth and then Sydney.
David has qualifications in chemical and materials engineering and is a Chartered Professional Engineer. He specialises in those technologies, and in mechanical and gaming technologies for a number of significant clients.
David is the second lateral hire Partner for POF. He follows Ross McFarlane, who joined in 2006.
Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Managing Partner Graham Cowin welcomed the appointment of Mr Clark.
“David has a wealth of expertise in handling both local and international patent clients in a broad range of technologies,” he said. "He will add considerable strength to our Sydney office."
In addition to being a registered patent attorney in Australia and New Zealand, David is a member of a number of national and international IP associations.
His personal credentials include representing New Zealand and Australia in the America’s Cup Challenge series (1986-87 Team NZ and 1991-92 Challenge Australia). David still sails at an elite level, in Etchell-class yachts.
