| The partners and staff of Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick were devastated to learn of the sudden death of our friend and colleague, Tony Price, yesterday evening.
Tony began his career in intellectual property as a patent searcher in the Science Reference Library in London for a large search and translation company.
He then joined UK firm, Frank B Dehn & Co in 1989 and subsequently became a senior associate. Whilst there, he met Arlene, who became his girlfriend. He and Arlene left there in 1999 to travel.
Tony was a Chartered Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney, a Registered UK Trade Mark Agent and a Representative before the Community Trade Mark Office.
Tony joined the Electronics, Physics & IT team of Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick in 2001. Having decided to remain in Australia, Tony became an Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney, and was appointed an Associate of the firm in 2006.
Tony recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime; two weeks of dog-sledding in Svalbard, an island group owned by Norway, midway between Norway and the North Pole. There, Tony proposed to Arlene.
Tony will be sorely missed.
Our sympathies are extended to Arlene, as well as Tony’s family and friends.
