| .tel is a new top level domain that launches to the general public today following sunrise and landrush periods. .tel is a new top level domain operated by Telnic that is marketed as a global online directory that houses different types of contact information (eg address, phone, fax, email, website etc) directly in the domain name system without the need to build, host or manage a website. The Sunrise Period for .tel domain names which was open to trade mark owners closed on 2 February 2009. The LandRush phase which allows anyone to register a .tel domain name (provided it is available) on a first-come, first-served basis for a premium price opened on 3 February 2009 and closed on 23 March 2009. General Availability opens on 24 March 2009 when anyone can register a .tel domain name (provided it is available) on a first-come, first-served basis. |
