New Partner joins PO&F - Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick

New Partner joins PO&F

10 April, 2006

Mr Ross McFarlane has joined Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick as a partner.

Ross McFarlane’s core expertise is in the electrical and electronic technologies, including electrical engineering, IT and telecommunications, an important area for the firm.

He holds an honours degree in electrical engineering and is a registered patent attorney in Australia and New Zealand.

Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick Managing Partner Graham Cowin welcomed the appointment of Mr McFarlane.

“We believe this is the first time in the 118 year history of the firm that a partner has been appointed from outside the firm,” he said.

“Ross is well known to many in the firm, as he was employed in a more junior capacity from 1988 to 1991. He subsequently moved to Switzerland, where he was a patent attorney for the Swatch Group, before returning to Australia in 1997.

Most recently, he was a partner with another Australian national firm.

Mr McFarlane is located in the Melbourne office.
